Art of Caring

My name is Jennette and I am a nurse who is currently working in a memory care (dementia) unit. Having a dream to become a nurse from a young age, I found that life took over in the early years and that hope was set aside for family and career. Not until later in life did my dream become a reality. Spending the first half of my working years in various businesses, my heart is to spend the rest of my life in a capacity which benefits and touches others. As nurses we have the unique opportunity to be hope and light in the midst of chaos and tragedy, for both our patients and their family members. Only through demonstration of true caring do we allow our patients and their families the peace to be able to share their fears and feelings. The privilege to care for others when they are not able to care for themselves is a true calling and one not to be taken lightly. This blog focuses on that point of view, with a little humor thrown in for good measure.
